Broward County Housing - Skilled Nursing Facilities

Font size AAA

Skilled nursing facilities, also known as nursing homes, provide 24-hour-a-day access to the services of licensed medical personnel—nurses, nurse’s aides, and a physician on call if needed. Patients may stay for a few days or for weeks, months, or years. Medicare will often pay for short stays but not for long-term residence.

"The people at the nursing home were so nice. They knew exactly what we were going through and they did all they could to make sure Grandma was comfortable and that we could be with her. They deal with this a lot, so they are real pros."
